Danville, Va. – Some Danville residents are a little better off, thanks to the help of the treasurer’s office.
During an unclaimed property virtual call event last week, staff members from the Virginia Department of the Treasury helped Danville residents find more than $100,000 in missing money. During the two-day event, Treasury workers looked up 542 names and discovered a total of $103,230.91.
The unclaimed property event was held in partnership with the City of Danville’s Treasurer’s Office, which has already scheduled a similar call-in for early December.
