MARTINSVILLE, Va. – Martinsville Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened Sunday night.

According to BTW21, the Martinsville Police Department received a call about shots fired shortly after 8:30 Sunday night from the Maplewood Apartments.

Martinsville Police Chief Eddie Cassady said there was an argument in the parking lot, but when the officers arrived, they found one person had been shot. First responders were unable to resuscitate the victim, who died at the scene.

The death is being carried as a homicide.

At last report, no one had been charged in the shooting death.
