SEMORA, N.C. – The former director of a North Carolina funeral home has been arrested again on another charge of obtaining money by false pretense.
The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged 40-year-old Jeremiah Randall Whitt of Milton on Monday. He has since been released from the Caswell County Detention Center under a $5,000.00 unsecured bond.
Whitt is scheduled to appear in Caswell County District Court on Wednesday, June 30 at 8:45 a.m..
He was previously arrested on two counts of obtaining money by false pretense and two counts of disturbing human remains after two corpses were found on property belonging to Whitt’s family in Semora, N.C. Deputies were called to the scene after it was reported that a faint odor was coming from the property.
Investigators have said that this is an “ongoing investigation” and are releasing limited information at this time.
