EDEN, N.C. – The body of the fifth and final tuber who went missing on the Dan River last month was recovered Monday afternoon.

Rockingham County authorities confirmed that the body of 35-year-old Teresa Villano had been recovered from the area near the Draper Boat Landing in Eden. Family members say she was pregnant.

The woman had been missing since she and her family accidentally went over the Duke Energy dam while tubing at the Dan River on June 17.

Swift water rescue teams retrieved the body, days after other members of Villano’s family were found dead in the river. The bodies of four other family members, including two children, were recovered in June.

Four family members were rescued the day after the accident.
