PATRICK COUNTY, Va. – The ten-day search for a missing jogger in the Blue Ridge Mountains ended Monday afternoon.
The body 61-year-old Bruce Rubin was found off a bluff in the Roaring Creek Gorge. Rubin appeared to have fallen, and the Patrick County Sheriff’s Office said they found no evidence of foul play.
Primland Resort employees and sheriff’s deputies made the discovery at around noon Monday. Rubin’s body was recovered about 8 p.m.
Officials say Rubin was last seen jogging on a trail at a resort last Friday in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The search was halted for one day because of bad weather.
Rubin’s family notified friends and family Monday afternoon that his body was found hundreds of yards off of the trail by the sheriff’s department.
