SOUTH BOSTON, Va. – Police in South Boston, Virginia are investigating after a man was taken to a local hospital suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The South Boston Police Department received a 911 call around 2 a.m. Thursday about a shooting on Bane Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 24-year-old man inside a mobile home in the Westside Trailer Park.

Investigators identified the victim as James Burden, Jr. of South Boston. Burden was transported to Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital and is undergoing treatment for what police described as “multiple gunshot wounds.” His condition was not immediately available.

Investigators searched the trailer for evidence but at last report had made no arrests in the shooting.
