DANVILLE, Va. – Doug Young is returning to the Danville Lifesaving Crew.

Young has been named as the volunteer organization’s new CEO.

A Danville native, Young’s experience includes both paid and volunteer emergency services administration and operations work for both city and county governments.

He currently serves as Emergency Services Director in Person County, North Carolina, where Young leads a department of three divisions: office of emergency management, 911 communications and EMS. Young was named to that post in 2015.

Young currently serves as chair of the Duke Healthcare Coalition Steering Committee and is a member of the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners Justice & Public Safety Committee.

Young’s 41-year career in emergency services started in Danville.
