DANVILLE, Va. – Averett University and the Virginia Department of Health’s Pittsylvania-Danville District are teaming up to hold a COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Saturday, Aug. 21.

The shots will be given at Averett University’s Student Center, 204 Woodland Drive in Danville, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday.

From West Main Street, turn onto Woodland Avenue. The Student Center is located on the corner of Woodland Avenue and Townes Street, with an available parking lot across from the Student Center.

This clinic is focused on the K-12 vaccination needs, but will be open to anyone 12 or older. Those under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian present.

Pfizer, Moderna and J&J vaccines will be available.

“With the rise in COVID-19 cases due to the Delta variant, we strongly encourage everyone to get vaccinated. The COVID-19 vaccines are designed to reduce severe illness, hospitalization and death.” said Scott J. Spillmann, MD, MPH, health director, Pittsylvania/Danville and Southside Health Districts.

To pre-register for the clinic, go to vaccineappointments.virginia.gov. Or call the state’s COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline at 1-877-VAX-IN-VA (877-829-4682).
