DANVILLE, Va. – As temperatures climb to the upper 90s this week, Danville Utilities is asking customer to conserve power during the afternoon hours. The city is urging customers to reduce power consumption Tuesday afternoon through Thursday, between the hours of 2 and 6 p.m.
The utilities department says that nothing is wrong with the power grid and plenty of power will be available for customers; however, by reducing the demand for electricity during these peak hours, the city could save on future power supply costs.
That savings would in turn be passed along to the consumer.
