HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A Bassett woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle accident.

Virginia State Police responded to a crash at Route 57 and Stone Dr. at 2:15 Tuesday afternoon.

A 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass was traveling west on Route 57 when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned.

The driver — 62-year-old Rhonda K. Phillips of Bassett, Va. — died at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
