BLAIRS, Va. – As thousands converge for the second day of an outdoor festival near Danville, Pittsylvania County is seeking feedback regarding the Blue Ridge Rock Festival.
The county wants area residents as well as out-of-town attendees to share their experiences and provide feedback on how future events might be improved.
A county spokesman says the feedback will be shared with concert promoters and regulatory agencies. For example, input regarding parking and event security will be shared with the festival organizer, while comments about public safety and traffic plans will be directed to agencies like Pittsylvania County Public Safety, the Virginia Department of Transportation, and the Virginia State Police, as well as the event’s promoters.
Traffic was backed-up for hours between Rt. 41 and R&L Smith Road as the three-day festival unfolded.
Virginia State Police have stationed troopers along the route to help with traffic control as festival-goers are shuttled to the event site.
