DANVILLE, Va. – A gas leak led to the evacuation of a Danville neighborhood Monday afternoon.

The leak in a 1″ gas line was detected shortly after 4:30 p.m. Danville firefighters evacuated homes from College Avenue to Watson Street, along with residents on Paul Street.

Crews traced the leak and crimped the line.

There were no injuries and everyone was allowed back in their homes at 6 p.m. after the gas had dissipated.
