ROANOKE, Va. – Roanoke Police are investigating three weekend shootings, including one that left a man dead.
The latest happened early Sunday morning in the 3100 block of Williamson Road NE. When officers responded to a report of shots fired around 5 a.m., they found an adult male outside a home suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim will be identified after next-of-kin have been contacted.
No arrests have been made in the shooting, which is being investigated as a homicide.
Officers were called about 7:30 Saturday evening to an incident in the 3300 block of Melrose Avenue NW, although investigators believe that shooting happened at another location. An adult male suffered what police described as a serious gunshot wound and was taken to Roanoke Carilion Hospital for treatment.
No arrests have been made.
The first shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. Saturday. A person with a gunshot wound was found in the 2000 block of Gandy Drive NW. Roanoke Fire-EMS transported the man to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for treatment of what police say were non-life threatening injuries.
