DANVILLE, Va. – A fire at  a Franklin Turnpike apartment was confined to an exterior wall and did little damage.

Crews responded to 1300 Franklin Turnpike, Apartment G4,  just after 12:30 Thursday afternoon and found smoke coming from between the bricks of the large, two-story building. The fire was located inside an exterior wall, the brick veneer was removed, and the fire quickly extinguished. The apartment sustained minor damage.

The unit was occupied at the time of the fire but no one was injured and the family was able to return to the apartment.
