MARTINSVILLE, Va. – A man is in custody after Martinsville Police say he shot a woman in the arm on Thanksgiving Day.
Martinsville police were alerted to the shooting just before 11 p.m.
They responded to a home on Spruce Street and found a vehicle leaving the scene with a wounded passenger. Police escorted the pair to the emergency room.
The woman was treated a Martinsville Hospital before being transferred to another facility for additional treatment.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office located the shooting suspect in Axton, Virginia, where he was taken into custody and brought to Martinsville.
35-year-old Quinton Lamar Brandon is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, discharge of a firearm in an occupied dwelling, reckless handling of a firearm, grand larceny, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm in the city of Martinsville, along with domestic assault and strangulation.
Brandon is being held in the Martinsville City Jail, without bond.
