SOUTH BOSTON, Va. – A South Boston Man has entered a plea in a fatal hit-and-run accident last summer.
Quincy Moore was charged with second-degree murder after hitting 48-year-old Donald Jeffreys with a vehicle following an altercation on Howard Avenue in South Boston.
Moore was working as a DJ at a neighborhood party when an argument ensued. The disagreement quickly escalated into a fight. After other party-goers pulled the two apart, Jeffreys began to threaten Moore.
Police say Moore got into his car and sped up, striking Jeffreys, who was knocked into the yard of a nearby home. An autopsy revealed Jeffreys died of blunt force injuries to his head and neck.
Moore entered an Alford Plea, admitting that the prosecution had enough evidence for a conviction.
He’ll be sentenced at a later date.
