HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A North Carolina man was arrested in Henry County over the weekend and charged with attempted murder after he allegedly wounded another man in a shotgun attack.

The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office received a call about 7 p.m. Friday that 57-year-old Thaddeus Grey of Stoneville was at a local hospital undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound.

Investigators say the shooting followed an altercation involving Grey and 60-year-old Kenneth Lee Bell Jr., also of Stoneville. They say Bell shot Grey with a shotgun at Bell’s home. Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies located Bell in Bassett a short time later and charged him with attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Grey’s condition was not immediately available.

The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department, Stoneville Police and Henry County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in the investigation.
