RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond is pulling out all of the stops to welcome incoming Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin this weekend.

Youngkin, a Republican, will be the Commonwealth’s 74th governor and the first Republican to hold the office in a more than a decade.

The festivities will start Thursday night and continue for three days.

The events will include a reception, dinner, prayer breakfast and Youngkin’s inauguration at noon on Saturday. The official swearing in will be followed by a parade.

Governor Glenn and First Lady Suzanne Youngkin will then host a casual “Spirit of Celebration” gathering at Main Street Station featuring live music and foods from different areas of the state.
