(Martinsville, VA) – Just after 11pm Friday night authorities were dispatched to the El Parral restaurant on Commonwealth Blvd. Deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s office upon arrival found multiple subjects suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the victims with multiple gunshot wounds was identified as Orlando Raceem Johnson, 31 of Martinsville, who later died as a result of the injuries.
As investigators worked the scene it became clear that an argument between multiple people took place on the sidewalk outside the restaurant which resulted in Johnson and another man Laquon Deshawn Moss, 26 of Ridgeway to pull out handguns and open fire.
During the exchange of gunfire Moss struck Johnson multiple times as well as striking a female in the leg and another man in the arm. Neither of those injuries were life threatening. A bullet from Johnson’s gun struck and killed another individual Malik Douglas, 25 of Martinsville.
Laquon Deshawn Moss is in the Henry County Jail without bond and has been charged with the following:
First-degree murder
Malicious wounding (2 counts)
Use of a firearm during the commission of a felony (3 counts)
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
