(Halifax County, VA) – A two vehicle crash that left one man dead is under investigation by the Virginia State Police. According to a statement issued Tuesday the crash took place on January 12th at the intersection of James D. Hagood Rd. and Terry’s Bridge Rd.
A 2008 Ford Edge was traveling east on James D. Hagood Rd. when it struck a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer that was entering the intersection from S. Terry’s Bridge Rd. The Trailblazer failed to stop at the stop sign. The impact of the crash caused the Trailblazer to overturn.
The Ford’s 68 year old driver as well as 22 year old passenger were airlifted from the scene to Duke University medical center For treatment of serious injuries. Neither of those individuals was wearing their seatbelt.
The driver of the Trailblazer, Sean P. Keoughan, 34, of Roanoke, Va., died at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt.
The investigation into this crash remains ongoing.
