DANVILLE, Va. – A Danville family was forced out of their home by a weekend fire.

Crews were dispatched to the 300 block of Church Street just after 1:00 p.m. Saturday and found flames coming from the basement of the house.

The family had gotten out of the home safely by the time firefighters arrived and  no one was injured.

Crews were able to knock down the flames quickly but the house suffered heavy fire, water and smoke damage.

The Danville fire marshal investigated and determined that the fire was caused by an overloaded electrical circuit.
