DANVILLE, Va. – Much of Virginia could see 1-to-3 inches of snow this weekend.
In the Danville area, the National Weather Service (NWS) is calling for a threat of light snow Friday into early Saturday as a storm forms off the Mid-Atlantic coast.
The NWS says we can expect some accumulation, with wind chills as low as the single-digits in parts of Virginia through the weekend.
The snow will be moving west to east across the region into Friday night. The storm is expected to begin as rain Friday afternoon before changing to a rain and snow mixture, then all snow after 10 pm. A 1-to-2 inch accumulation is possible on the Southside.
Skies will clear Saturday, but winds will gust up to 30 mph and temperatures will dip to the lower teens Saturday night.
At this point, no weather advisories have been issued for the Danville area.
