HENRY COUNTY, Va. – A Martinsville man was killed Friday morning when his car struck a Henry County school bus.
Virginia State Police say the driver of the Kia Optima, 51-year-old Michael Dunkley, wasn’t wearing his seat belt and died at the scene.
The crash happened just before 7 a.m. Friday on Preston Road, near Meadowood Trail in Henry County.
According to Virginia State Police, the driver of a school bus pulled out of a driveway, turning left onto Preston Road, and was hit by the driver of a Kia Optima. The bus driver was not injured.
No students were on board the school bus at the time of the collision.
An investigation into the crash is continuing.
