DANVILLE, Va. – A electrical short in a ceiling fan was to blame for a Friday house fire on College Park Drive in Danville.
The Danville Fire Department responded around 1 p.m. to 1304 College Park Drive for a reported structure fire. The engine’s captain walked around the house and found fire coming from the rear.
Neighbors on scene stated an occupant might still be inside the house but everyone was accounted for and there were no injuries.
The fire was knocked down quickly.
The Danville Fire Marshal’s office determined the cause to be an electrical short in a bathroom ventilation fan.
The Danville Fire Department responded with three engines, a ladder truck, a support vehicle, and a command vehicle.
