HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. – Halifax County investigators have capped an undercover drug operation with two dozen arrests.
Sheriff Fred S. Clark said the joint operation — dubbed “Not in Our Backyard” – began Feb 17 and culminated over the weekend with 24 drug-related arrests. Ten more suspects were taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
Officers seized suspected methamphetamine and heroin throughout the investigation and Clark said additional charges and arrests will be “forthcoming.”
Agencies participating in the operation were the Halifax/South Boston Regional Narcotic and Gang Task Force, Virginia State Police, South Boston Police Department, Halifax Police Department, Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, and the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.
Clark also thanked the Halifax County E911 dispatchers and the Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority for their assistance in the investigation.
