DANVILLE, Va. – Starting Monday, Sovah-Health will relax visitation restrictions at its hospitals in Danville and Martinsville. During the past two years of the pandemic, the hospital system has placed strict limits on patient visits in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sheranda Gunn-Nolan welcomed the switch, calling it “a return to our normal.”
Two visitors will be allowed for patients being treated in the hospital, including maternity care. One “well” visitor will be allowed back with the emergency department as well as COVID-positive patients.
All visitors will still be screened for COVID when entering either medical facility.
