HENRY COUNTY, Va. – The driver of a pickup truck was killed when he was thrown from the vehicle in a Monday crash.
Virginia State Police say the pickup was headed west on Route 57 (Chatham Road) in Henry County when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road and hit an eroded ditch. The driver then tried to steer out of the ditch and accelerated.
The wheels caught on the roadway and the truck rolled, throwing the driver from the vehicle.
The driver was identified as 20-year-old Zachary T. Porter of Martinsville. State police say Porter was not wearing a seat belt.
