A Danville man who was wanted on charges in North Carolina was arrested by deputies from the Orange County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Office, who traveled to Danville to take him into custody. 28 year old Avery Parker had been wanted for a string of ATV thefts. While serving a search warrant at his home, deputies say they found a dirt bike and a four-wheeler, and now they have added them to the list and are trying to figure out if they too were among the items previously reported as stolen. Police also found a modified semi-automatic handgun that had been modified to make it a fully automatic weapon. That too was seized. Parker is now in the Danville City Jail, pending extradition to North Carolina, where he is facing charges including four counts of larceny of a motor vehicle. Additional charges are said to be pending.
