A Martinsville man remains in custody after he tried… unsuccessfully… to rob a bank and then flee on a motorcycle late last week. Martinsville Police say 35 year old Barry Mullins came into the East Commonwealth Boulevard branch of Carter Bank and Trust, and instructed a teller to put cash into a bag he was carrying. When the teller refused, Mullins fled on a motorcycle, but was involved in a wreck with a police vehicle and that’s when he was cuffed. He suffered some minor injuries in the crash. Now, Mullins faces charges including attempted bank robbery and felony attempt to elude police.
