If you travel through the intersection of South Main Street and Updike Place near Southwyck Plaza in Danville, no doubt you have seen it. A new traffic signal has been installed there. For now, it’s just operating in flash mode to acquaint drivers with the new signal, but it will become fully operational (Tomorrow/Tuesday). The recent work includes intersection improvements too, such as handicapped accessible pushbutton-activated pedestrian signals and marked crosswalks. The project was spurred by a fatal crash there back in 2020.
