A new traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of South Main Street and Updike Place near Southwyck Plaza in Danville. For now, it’s just operating in flash mode to acquaint drivers with the new signal. It was originally planned to be fully activated today, but due to a change in those plans, it will now become fully operational on Thursday instead. The recent work includes intersection improvements too, such as handicapped accessible pushbutton-activated pedestrian signals and marked crosswalks. The project was spurred by a fatal crash there back in 2020.
