Virginia lawmakers are continuing to discuss Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s proposal to suspend the state gas tax for 3 months starting May 1. Democrats in the House of Delegates are putting forth an alternative plan that would give $50 rebates to car owners with a $100 rebate limit per household. Republican delegates say the state is in a strong enough financial position to lift the tax. Lawmakers will be back in session April 27.
