Danville Police in cooperation with the Drug Enforcement Administration will be accepting expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs at its semi-annual drug take back event on April 30. Pills will be accepted at Centra Medical Group on Park Avenue between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at no charge with no questions asked. Prohibited items include sharps, needles, liquids, aerosols, and ointments. Nearly 27,000 pounds of drugs were collected in Virginia at last April’s take back event.
