The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services receives over $630,000 from the federal School Violence Prevention Program. The money will go to implement a crisis management enhancement project which will increase communication, coordination and information sharing between law enforcement and school officials. The goal is to increase school safety and sustainability planning efforts. The DCJS will lead the project in collaboration with other state agencies, including the Virginia Department of Education and Virginia State Police.
