The Hughes Center in Danville holds a groundbreaking for its new facility serving children and adolescents on May 31 at 1:00 p.m. The Center has been a part of the Danville and Pittsylvania County community for almost 100 years, originally serving as an orphanage. It has provided residential mental health treatment to children and adolescents with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities since 2006. The new facility’s planning opening is set for March 2024. The Center’s current services, education, and standards of care will continue without interruption during construction.
