Nathaniel Cobbs of Danville will be in jail for over 3 decades in the 2021 shooting death of of Yanceyville resident Joshua Rone. According to the Star-Tribune Cobbs received a 70-year sentence for the murder with 40 years suspended plus 3 years on a gun charge. Cobbs pleaded guilty in April to the death at the Danville-Pittsylvania County Fairgrounds which police say was the result of a fight over a girl.
