Pittsylvania County Officials are offering a new information service to residents in the form of a mailbag style column. With the variety of services, the county offers to its residents the opportunity to ask what, why, and how of day-to-day operations. Residents can fill out an online form with their questions and they may be featured in what is expected to be a detail oriented monthly column. “Pittsylvania County oversees a general fund of more than $70 million, supplies water and wastewater services to thousands of residents and businesses, invests in County schools, maintains a fleet of Public Safety vehicles and personnel that prepare or and respond to emergencies of all kinds, manages a landfill and more than 30 trash dropoff sites, and provides a variety of regulatory services, health and human services, and quality of life amenities, among other services,” said Public Relations Manager Caleb Ayers. “Through this column, we want to offer our residents a better understanding of different County services and operations, providing on clarity on what goes on, how things work, and why things are the way that they are.” Don’t expect for this to be a complaint laced column though those who have issues will get responses back from the public relations team, but the column is meant to be informative for residents.
