Jesse Perkins and Mary Crider often play Mega Millions together when the jackpot grows past $200 million. That’s what happened on the September 20 drawing, when the jackpot was at $277 million.

One of the tickets Perkins and Crider purchased matched the first five numbers and missed only the Mega Ball number. With that ticket the siblings won the $1 million Mega Millions prize.

“He told me we won, and I said, ‘come on, it’s not April Fools Day!’ Crider told Virginia Lottery Officials as the Danville Siblings claimed their prize.

The winning numbers were 9-21-28-30-52, and the Mega Ball number was 10. The ticket was purchased at the Sunrise 6, located at 2120 Franklin Turnpike in Danville.
