The Danville Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 13 Augusta Ave. this morning at 03:08. Fire crews arrived and found smoke showing from the roof line area of the two-story home.
Upon further investigation, fire crews found heavy fire and heat on the second floor and attic area of the home. The home sustained heavy fire damage on the second floor and water damage on the first floor.
The Danville Fire Department initially responded with three engines, one ladder truck, one support unit, and one command unit. Command requested an additional engine later in the incident for manpower.
20 personnel were on the scene for approximately four hours. The DFD was assisted on the scene by, Danville Police Department, Danville Utilities, Danville Power and Light, and Danville Life Saving Crew. The Fire Marshal’s Office arrived on the scene to investigate and determined the cause to be electrical in nature. No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross is assisting the homeowner.
