The Salvation Army of Danville had a red Christmas kettle stolen Monday afternoon. The kettle was stolen from outside of the Belk department store in Danville Mall.

The kettle worker was not physically injured, they were shaken up from the incident. Safety measures are stressed to bell ringers during orientation as The Salvation Army takes the safety of workers and the public very seriously.

The Salvation Army is fully cooperating with authorities in their investigation. The Christmas season represents the organization’s busiest and most important fundraising time.

Every dollar raised through the iconic Red Kettle Campaign remains in the community and makes it possible for The Salvation Army to deliver life-changing programs and services throughout the year.
