One man is dead after an officer involved shooting in Henry County. Around 2:50 pm the man was reportedly driving around erratically and other drivers could possibly see a rifle barrel in the vehicle.

At one point the man stopped, exited the vehicle, and started shooting at other vehicles. One of the officers encountered the man and he was shot and died from his wounds, Henry County Sheriff Lane Perry told BTW 21.

The only information that has been released about the man is that he was an older white male. The incident has now been turned over to the Virginia State Police for investigation.

The incident has caused all lanes of US-220 in the vicinity of Greensboro Rd.
