An Eden man has been arrested and hit with several drug related charges. On Monday, investigators with the Eden Police Department arrested Demetrius Deshawn Hairston, 31, and executed a search warrant at 417 Cedar St.
This operation was the result of a, continuous, in-depth investigation into the trafficking of illegal narcotics by Hairston. At approximately 2:00 pm a traffic stop was conducted on Hairston near the intersection of Washington St. and Elm St.
Hairston was immediately taken into custody on an outstanding warrant for Manufacture/Sell/Deliver/Possess Cocaine within 1000 ft of a School, Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Cocaine and Maintaining a Dwelling for the sell/deliver Cocaine. Investigators then executed a search warrant at Hairston’s residence.
A search of Hairston’s residence resulted in the seizure of 46 grams of cocaine, 972 grams of marijuana and $3,430.
Hairston has been arrested and charged with the following:
Two Counts of Manufacture/Sell/Deliver/Possess Cocaine within 1000ft of elementary school (F)
One Count of Trafficking in Cocaine (F)
Two Counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine (F)
Two Counts of Maintaining a Dwelling for the Sell/Deliver Cocaine (F)
One Count of Manufacture/Sell/Deliver/Possess Marijuana within 1000ft of elementary school (F)
One Count of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana (F)
One Count of Felony Possession of Marijuana (F)
One Count Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Hairston is being held in the Rockingham County Jail under a $500,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on January 6, 2023.
