Danville City Council got some good news last night as Finance Director, Michael Adkins informed that the cities revenue for the year is up nearly $1 million.
“The local taxes are the strong performers this year,” said Adkins, “our sales tax is at $4.7 million, that is about $275k more than last year at this time. Meals tax as well at $4.5 million, tracking at $425k more than last November and finally lodging is really the stronger in comparison to last year, we’ve collected $1.2 million in lodging tax and it exceeds last year by $254k.”
