A Hurt man was arrested in Pittsylvania County this morning for stealing a school bus. At 6:41 deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Spring Road in Hurt in reference to a suspicious white male in the proximity of an unoccupied and parked Pittsylvania County school bus.

As Deputies were en route to answer this call it was reported that the male had entered the school bus and drove away from the residence. Deputies spotted the bus and the suspect at about 7:00 am. The suspect stopped and was arrested, without incident, for the theft of the school bus.

34-year-old Matthew Wade Heuple was arrested and charged with one count of grand larceny and one count of driving a motor vehicle after forfeiture of his license. Heuple remains in the Pittsylvania County jail pending his first court appearance.
