Virginia State Police have identified the woman that was killed in a crash on Franklin Turnpike on Saturday morning. 66-year-old Sheila Kay Powell has been identified as the woman that was killed in the accident.

The crash occurred at 11:36 when the 2007 Toyota Corolla that Powell was driving, pulled out of Tuscarora Village Shopping Center and was hit by a 2011 Ford Edge, that was driving North on Franklin Turnpike. Powell died at the scene and was wearing her seatbelt.

The driver of the Ford was a 17-year-old female. She was not wearing her seatbelt and was taken to a local hospital for her injuries.

Virginia State Police are still investigating the crash.
