WBTM’s own Alex Vardavas received a surprise and big honor on Tuesday as he was informed of his induction into the Elon University Chapter of the The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

The Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society is the nation’s oldest and most selective honor society. The society boasts notable members like 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, and best-selling novelist John Grisham. Vardavas will officially be inducted into the society in a ceremony at McKinnon Hall on April 26.

Vardavas was recognized by the honor society for the work he has done in the community of Danville and for his dedication to Elon.
