At the Monday, March 27 Work Session of the Rockingham County Schools Board of Education, the district’s leadership officially hired Tameka Goods as the new Principal of South End Elementary School for the 2023-24 school year. Goods is currently the Assistant Principal at South End Elementary.
Goods was born and raised in Reidsville, and is an alumnus of Reidsville High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and her Master’s Degree from North Carolina A&T State University. In addition, she received a Post-Administration license from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
The 2022-23 school year is Goods’ 19th in public education. She has served as an elementary teacher at Lawsonville Avenue, as well as an instructional coach. She was also an instructional coach at Moss Street Elementary, a curriculum facilitator at Wiley Elementary in Guilford County, and an assistant principal at Monroeton Elementary, Wentworth Elementary, and currently South End Elementary
Goods is married with three boys. She has bonus sons – one in the Air Force and one currently attending Virginia Tech. Her other son currently attends South End Elementary. She is the founder of S&K Preemie Love Foundation. This foundation was started in memory of her twin daughters, who passed away prematurely. The foundation’s theme and my motto that Goods lives by is “Keeping Dreams & Aspirations Alive”.

I’m passionate and dedicated to our students, parents and staff at South End. My vision is to keep students first while providing and maintaining a caring, welcoming and safe learning environment for all students, staff, parent and the community,” Mrs. Goods said. “My goal for the 23-24 school year is to continue to foster meaningful relationships with students, staff and parents with the goal of helping every child succeed in school and ultimately in life. We will provide the tools and resources for all to be successful, confident and prepared for the next level.”
