Three people were shot in South Boston on Sunday afternoon and a 21-year-old male suspect has been arrested. The shooting occurred at around 3:30 pm in the area of Llewellyn Avenue and College Street.
Officers were initially responding to a report of one person being shot, but when they arrived on scene they found two females and a male suffering from gunshot wounds. Two of the victims were sent to the hospital and are in stable condition. The other victim was treated and released.
After interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence police arrested 21-year-old Daquan E. Valentine. He is being charged with three counts of malicious wounding and one count of the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
Police responded to a second shooting incident in the same area early on Monday morning after receiving another shots fired report. No one was injured in the second incident. Police are investigating if the two incidents are related.
