An elderly woman was found dead in a field on Monday morning in Henry County. At around 8 am a driver saw the body near the 2600 block of Figsboro Road and notified authorities.

The woman has been identified as 88 year old Rhonda Fulcher of Martinsville. Authorities say she left her home Sunday night on foot and walked 100 yards before she fell down an embankment and was injured

The body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
