Washington Commanders Owner Dan Snyder has reached a deal to sell the team, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The purchasing group is led by Philadelphia 76ers co-owner and owner of the New Jersey Devils Josh Harris.
According to Schefter the deal is not exclusive and has not been signed. Another group led by Canadian billionaire Steve Apostopolous and his family are still involved in the process. The reported purchase is for just over $6 billion.
The reported sale price of nearly $6 billion is a record for an NFL franchise. The current record was the purchase of the Denver Broncos for $4.65 billion in August.
